DIWALI CARDS 2017

Hello All,

Today I am sharing my third set of Diwali Cards. I made these on a friend's request. The design is same as my previous year Diwali Card as he wanted these only.

I have used 3 embossing folders - 2 from spellbinders and 1 from Stampin Up to create embossed background. Then distress them with different combos of distress inks. Added gold embossed happy diecut  to add that touch of gold.

I have made 10 cards in different colors -

Sorry for the bad pictures..Cards are brighter than in pics.

Hope you like them

Distress Ink Background

Hello Friends,

Today I am sharing a very simple card. I have created a background using distress inks. Since distress inks are very reactive so I decided to experiment a little with them.

First have a look at  my finished card

To create the background I took a piece of Neenah Solar White Cardstock and applied broken china & chipped sapphire distress inks. Then using chipped sapphire I stamped a flower from Hero Arts Blossom Stamp set all over the distressed cardstock. Since distress inks remain wet for sometime so they can be used for embossing as well. So I applied clear embossing  powder over the stamped flowers and heat set it with heat gun.

Now the fun part begins. I took fabric whitener which we use at home. Dipped the brush into it and applied it on the flowers. Distress ink reacted with it turning the areas lighter. And if applied more areas will turn white. This is how I got this background.

To finish off the card I cut down the background cardstock into a panel and adhere it to A2 card base. I also  used happy die from Simon Says Stamp. I used five diecuts and stick them one above the other to get the dimension. Finally added this chipboard looking diecut over the vellum.

Diwali Card Series - 1

Hello Friends,

How you all doing? Wish you all a very happy and blessed Diwali. I am blogging after more than 3 months now and really happy to do so. I didn't crafted at all except for last 10 days. Meanwhile I also thought to post some old projects which I never shared here but my laziness always kept me away from my blog.

Few days back one of my friend wanted some handmade Diwali Cards. And I can't say No to him. So I made around 25 which I will sharing here. Since these cards were made to mail so I have not incorporated any 3D element in it. For few cards I decided to use dry embossing and distressing. Spellbinders paisley embossing folder was perfect for the theme. So here are the cards I made -
