Guest Post : CrafTreat Decoupage Papers

Hello Lovely Friends,

This is second part of my Guest Post using CrafTreat products. Today I will sharing some ideas on using decoupage papers for jewelry making. I have used decoupage papers for the first time and believe me its very easy to work with them as compared to napkins.

The first decoupage paper that I have used is called "Steam Punk". All the four papers that comes in this pack are well suitable if you are planning to make decoupage jewelry boxes, organizers or jewelry itself.

Truly speaking I had pretty hard time figuring out how to use these beautiful papers as I was not interested in using them on wooden boxes n similar articles. I only wanted jewelry with these. So after a month (almost) of thinking, I came up with this idea. Lets have a look at the pendant which I have made using one of the papers -

These are four papers of this pack, I have used third paper for my jewelry piece.

I handcut the shapes. I planned to layer them so utilized incomplete gear from the paper

Then to I used cardstock stack and glued these shapes on top. You can use wood, plastic, thin metal anything instead of cardstock

Next I took a mdf circle, colored it on both sides

Lastly I arranged all the pieces, glued them and completed my necklace with beads and chains. (please ignore my wire wrapping :) ) Have applied modpodge to seal . Look at the detail on every piece. I loved this paper !!!!

Next paper that I have used is "Metal". All the four papers have faded and rustic look. These papers are so perfect that you do not need any paint, inks to achieve distressed, rustic look. I have made jewelry with all the four papers. I have used metal lying in my stash as my base for sticking decoupage papers.

This is the "Metal" Decoupage Papers I have used -

And here is the pair of earring I have made -

Look at the rustic effect on papers :)

A Pendant made using faded n distressed jeans type paper of the pack -

And lastly I have made a reversible pendant using remaining two papers -
This one is one side of the pendant -

And this is another side of the reversible pendant -

Both the sides together -

So thats end my long post here. I hope I have inspired you in some way. Do let me know how you find my jewelry ideas.

Have a happy & blessed 2018 !!!

Guest Post : Jewelry Ideas with CrafTreat Stencils

Hello Friends

It's been long I haven't posted anything. this is my first post of this year. And I hope I will be able to share all what I have created last year.

Today I am delighted to be Guest Designing for The CraftTreat and grateful to Priya for giving me this opportunity. I am using CraftTreat products for the first time. Today I am sharing few of my creations using their stencils. They are actually very good in quality, cost and design. I totally enjoyed working with them.

I have used Craft Treat stencils to create few earrings. The designs are so apt to make jewelry in quick and easy way. I have used basic technique of layering cardstock for making the earrings.  So the process is quiet simple. Sharing basic steps here -

1.  Paint a white cardstock with acrylic paint.

2. Then place your stencil, secure it with tape. I have used Flower Tile stencil here

3. Now take acrylic color or any other paint and apply it with sponge or brush.

4. Remove your stencil carefully.

5.  Cut it into desired shape with dies or hand cut it.

6. Coat the surface with any sealant/resin. I have used modpodge here.

7. Layer your cardstock cutting and in between layers add eyepins.

8. Add hooks. And that’s it, you are done!!!

This is the finished earring –

Using the same stencil I have made one more earring –

Using the same process I have created few more jewelry pieces. This earring is made with Stone Background Stencil –

I have used Retro Corners stencil to make these jewelry pieces. These can be used as brooches or pendants. I have used watercolor pencils to color the stencil design and the applied versamark ink. And then sprinkled clear UTEE and heat set it.

Using the same stencil I have made one more set –

The next earring is made using Striped Chevrons Stencil –

And the last one is made using Fancy Brickwall stencil –

Hope you like the use of stencils in jewelry making. Craft Treat stencils are a must try.

Thanks for stopping by !!!

Happy Crafting and have a blessed 2018 :)
